The World’s Most Coveted Small-Group Polar Bear Expedition
When you're standing on the outdoor platform of a Polar Rover, the chill Arctic air feels invigorating. But not as much as the sight of the huge polar bear ambling toward you. Sometimes they are silhouetted against the horizon, slowly moving shadows on the vast expanse of tundra. Other times, one may wander up directly below. Safely elevated, you're nonetheless just feet away as you look down on his shaggy, cream-colored bulk. Noticing us, he stops, sniffs and turns his face our way, curious. You grin with delight. The big bear rises on his haunches to peer at you more deliberately. You watch in wonder. Minutes go by, perhaps an hour, who knows? Out here among the bears, time stands still. This is one of nature's most wondrous wildlife encounters—no one does it better than Natural Habitat Adventures. The Polar Bears gather along Hudson Bay during October and November waiting for the bay to freeze so they can hunt seals, their primary food source. Churchill Manitoba is the Polar Bear Capital of the world. We will fly to Winnipeg Canada Nov 4, spend 2 nights, and then fly to Churchill Manitoba on a plane chartered by Natural Habitat Adventures. There are no roads into Churchill and it is only accessible by train or plane. Tour groups are limited to 16 people so everyone has a window seat on the Polar Rover.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain
