Day 1 – Going to Cuba

We arrived in Ft Lauderdale about 4pm in perfect timing for dinner. We had researched restaurants and chose the 15th Street Fisheries for dinner because they had Bahamian Conch Chowder and Spiny Florida Lobster. I am not a fan of Maine Lobster, but Florida lobster, “yum!”  The restaurant in Barbados will forever be hard to beat because there we sat literally “on” the ocean and the lobsters were swimming when we arrived. However 15th street steamed it and then seared it in a sauce that I know was low cal- buttery, thick and Oh My Delicious. The whole plate was swimming in it.

We were overlooking the marina. Yep, just when you think you have arrived in life, there plastered in front of you was a scene that made you think you were a pauper.  Oh the yachts! But as I said to Tom, all that doesn’t necessarily make them happy. Also it is good be kept humble.

Today we will board the ship; however the ship is delayed so we won’t be boarding until about 7:30 tonight. So today after breakfast we will explore Ft Lauderdale. We plan to eat lunch at a place that Ft Lauderdale claims is “on” the ocean. As always if the speed of the ships internet permits occasional pictures will be posted on our website http://tomjed.com/ under Cuba.
